The company ANNAX produces information systems for different transport systems. They commissioned Popp Streib Architects to plan their production and main administration building with a total of about 60 employees.
From an existing, approved planning only the outer edges of the building could be taken over in accordance with the development plan. The functional assignment of the internal areas and, linked to this, the house and fire protection concept, the facades as well as the outdoor areas have been completely redesigned with the client and the specialist planners and resubmitted for approval.
A 2-storey building was planned with some naturally exposed basement. The ground floor houses the main production areas, the basement storage areas and other production areas. Upstairs are, arranged around an exposed leafy patio, administrative areas and two company apartments with views of the adjacent forest.
From specifications of the supply and disposal, the production processes, the building services components, fire protection, etc. a complex spatial structure with a comprehensive installation was developed. Thus, for example, all production areas are designed for forklifts driving.
The energy certificate of the building according to EnEV 2009 for non-residential buildings for the production and administrative areas as well as the proof for residential buildings for the corporate appartments has been issued in our office.
Design theme of the facade with a thermal insulation system is the presentation and structuring of the functional areas of the two bullets by window bands, including the open loggia areas before the company dwellings.
A special challenge was the design of the entrance area as a representative company entree and at the same time as a delivery zone.
